My unit basin fills with water and pours out on the floor from the bottom door seal. It does not appear to be draining. I took out the filter assembly at the bottom of the tub and found shattered glass on the inside parts of the screen against the drain ports. Would this cause the drain pump to fail? Is this the sign of a bad drain pump?

Mike, The drain pump would be a good place to start AP2802385, If you had glass in the circulation pump and drain holes, you most likely have glass in the drain impeller, and a damaged drain pump, and/or clogs in the drain hose system. Thanks and Good Luck

DW makes "groaning" sound during drain cycle, will drain some, stop noise 3-4 seconds, then repeats several times until drain.

The thing about this repair is you will have to remove the drain pump before you can order the correct one because it has been upgraded Drain Pump Motor Assembly - This dishwasher drain pump and motor assembly has been replaced. If your original drain pump has 9 impeller vanes order AP3996662 and AP5323611. If your original drain pump has 4 impeller vanes order AP2806666 and AP5323611. Thanks for answering my previous Question. Ready to buy impeller kit: 2 quick Q's: 1) I have motor out, the green impeller is separate from the whitish ceramic disc....does that mean it's the problem (i.e. should it be "one piece'). 2) How do I get the ceramic disc off the motor center axle / core? Thanks

Hi Jan. No, They should both be separate pieces. Place a 1x1' piece of wood on top of the motor. Use a screwdriver to pry under the disc and against the wood to lift off the shaft. Impellor kit # AP2802376. Thank You.

Water comes thru spray arm (mainly the bottom, very little thru top) but not enough force to spin them. Pump also sounds noisy. Do I need a new "recirculation" pump or just an impeller kit? Thanks

Hi Jan. Yes, you will need a recirculation pump rebuild kit. Part # is AP2802376. Make sure the wash arms jet holes are unplugged with a pick tool. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged at the sink end and the sink also. Thank you.

My dishwasher fills with water and drains at the end of the cycle, but is not spraying water. It is not making any unusual sounds. Would you think this circulation pump repair kit is what I need? Does it come with instructions? thanks.

Hi Kraig. Is your wash arms jets plugged? Flush them out under the sink, dislodging with a pick tool. Is the filter clean? Remove all from the top of the motor and clean filter. The circulation pump impellor may have stripped on the shaft. This part # is AP2802376. Thank you.

My girlfriends parents well pump went out while the dishwasher was running. When they go to use it now, it will not fill water. I assume that the water impeller was destroyed. You can here the motor hum as if it is running normally. I have yet to work on it. I am trying to get a ball park figure.

I searched the model number for my dishwasher which is SHX46B05UC/21 AND GET THE MODEL (/14), are they interchangeable? My unit does not have good pressure to the top rack. Near as I can tell, the pump is working, but may have a weak/broken impeller. If the bottom is cleaning, and the top isn't, would a rebuild kit likely be needed? If so, what part number do I need for my model?

Hello Larry. Make sure the water level is getting high enough for the system to work properly. If it is low, the upper spray arm will not work properly. If this is the case, you will need to replace the water valve AP3783031. You do not need to interchange the parts between the 14 and the 21 series. Hope this helps.

Seems to move water fine up to the upper spray arm which does rotate, there isn't a flow controll valve or somthing else in the cicuit that could cause this or is it just the lack of volume from the pump... you'd think the lower would rotate and not the top.

Hello Dean. Remove the lower spray arm and make sure it is not clogged. If it is clear, check the impeller and make sure it is working properly. Hope this helps.

Lower spray arm doesn't rotate, I've removed it and cleaned the nozzles it appears to be free to rotate. Would the pump impeller kit take care of this problem ?
