I replaced the drain pump because it was making noise. Now the drain pump run continuously. I touch the power button and the pump comes on. It even continues to run when I open the door. I even re-installed the old pump and it does the same thing except it is still making noise. Any suggestions?

Hello Wayne. Check and see if the bottom of the unit has water in it where you replaced the pump. If so, it will need to be completely dry, or the float will raise up and turn the drain pump AP3996662 on to prevent flooding.

The new pump impeller is conical and has 9 fins while the old one was squared off with 6 fins. Is this O.K? Also the electrical connection had 4 terminals while the new one only has 2. There are onle 2 wires to hook up. I did notice the L and N identifying letters on the housing and hooked them up accordingly but it appears that the pump is now running all the time and does not shut off. Do I have the wires crossed?

Hello Wayne. According to the manufacture, you will need to order the adapter AP5323611 for the pump to work properly.

Can I replace dishwasher pump assembly without removing dishwasher from cabinet? Also, do I need any replacement gaskets or o-rings when I put the new pump in? Thanks, Jim

Hello Jim. Depending on how big your hands are, you can remove the toe panel and the door panel it is #6 in this diagram. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=232366&diagram_id=196035#d196035. once you have removed these two pieces you should be able ta access the AP3996662 and change it out. and I sent you the service manual to help you further thank you and good luck !

If drain pump propeller spins when I spin it is it bad. Dishwasher stopped draining all of a sudden but I had noticed dishes were not coming out as clean before that. found hose had a kink but I do not know if I did that while I was pulling it out.

Hello Rodney. No it should spin, but not freely you should feel some resistance on the AP3996662 you can check this with a 110 a/c test cord, you can take an old 110 cord off of something and put two spade connectors on it , plug them on to the two spades coming off the pump and see if it spins just be careful, I would check the drain hose at the connections where it hooks up under the sink and where it comes out of the pump. It is always good to run some AP4308827 thru the unit periodically.Thank you and good luck !

My Bosch dw will not always drain at end of each cycle and water will buildup and pool in bottom of dw. But sometime it will drain as if there is no problem. I have checked hoses and filter so there is no blockage. At times I must push cancel button repeatedly to drain. Thanks, Bob

Yes by the information you have given, you will need to replace the AP3996662, first I would check your drain hose where it connects under the sink, for clogs, we also have some good cleaner AP4308827 that will help you maintain all the inner working parts of your unit , Thank you and good luck!

Suspect CIRC pump. Rattle noise and very low water flow to lower arm, none to top. Low drain pressure. Dual function pump for circ & drain? Have a printed disassembly instruction ? All other functions fine and pump motor quiet.....should be OK to replace pump kit only.

Hello Chip. AP2806666 is the drain pump assembly. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the circulation pump AP2826384 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

How easy is it to replace the drain pump on a Bosch SHU9915? Get from inside or do I have to take the machine out. Allan

Hello Allan. Remove toe kick, then pull up terminal cover and disconnect wires. For easier access, remove base cover 1st. To remove pump AP3996662, push latch (on circular collar) & rotate pump clockwise (cw). To install new pump, insert @ 2:00 position & rotate counterclockwise (ccw). Clean water & debris from base, then check float operation. Connect wires, then install base cover & toe kick. Hope this helps.
