Asked by Zak for Model Fridgiare oven

Hello Zak. You will need to check and see if the control is sending power to the element. If there is no power coming to the element, and it is turned onto the bake cycle, you will need to replace the bake element AP4356505 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter AP3873826. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Asked by Lynn for Model frigidaire oven

Hello Lynn. I would suggest to check the bake element for continuity. The bake element is the most common cause of this failure and the most overlooked. The only other things in the circuit are normally the thermostat (or electronic control depending on the model) and the wiring. You can test this with a multi-meter AP3873826. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Have a great day!

Asked by Sandy for Model Oven FEF316BSC

Hello Sandy. You will need to do the 10 minute test. Preheat to 350°. Then once preheated, you will open the door and put in a digital meter with temperature. Take the temperature the oven turns the element back on, and then the shut off temp. Keep up with this for 3 or 4 cycles of the relays. Then average the bottom number and the top numbers and get the average of each. Then add the top to the bottom numbers and divide by 2. You should be around 350°. If not, you will need to adjust the temperature of the unit. The element AP4356505 should not be causing this problem. Hope this helps.
