I've received the rear drum rollers I ordered, #AP40088534. How do I install them? The instructions say remove the front panel. How do you do that? With it removed, is that all I need to do?

Hello Tim. You will need to raise the top of the dryer and remove the screws securing the front panel to access and replace the rollers AP4008534 in the unit. This is a stackable washer dryer and the front roller is making noise . I put oil on it and it stopped but started in again. Can it be fixed without moving the unit from the closet enclosure.

Hello George. Yes it can be fixed without moving it . Putting oil on a roller is a fire hazard , I really wouldn't do that, I have seen fires caused by it , anyway those bearings are a sealed bearing , and they have to be replaced, here is the biggest mistake people make in doing this repair AP4982702 not replacing this also , the wheel rides on this , when you take the wheel AP4008534 off and this is tarnished replace it, you will be glad you did,I'm going to send you a service manual to help you along with this repair.

Sprayed the roller with oil and the noise stopped, then started in again. Can roller be replaced through bottom of dryer? If too much work gotta hire a guy.

THE DRYER MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN STARTING AND WHILE RUNNING. I CHANGED OUT THE BELT AND THE NOISE SEEMS TO BE WORSE (THE OLD BELT WAS STRETCHED SOME)

This is a follow-up question. I replaced the drum support rollers and got the dryer back together. But now it won’t start (yes, I have it plugged in, and I have the yellow and blue wires connected correctly to the door switch). Any ideas?

Hello Dan. You will need to disassemble the unit and see if any of the wires going to the motor, or thermal fuse have come loose. If not, you will need to test the door switch and see if it is bad and replace it if needed. You can test this with a multi-meter AP3873826. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. This is a follow-up question. I asked: In reattaching the drum belt to the pulley assembly, the belt seems to rub against the L-shaped piece attached to the pulley. I viewed the diagram (http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/25860-dryer-belt-diagrams.html) and I think I have it correct. The diagram does not show the L-piece but shows the belt going straight from the pulley to the drum. My assumption is that the belt should not rub on the L-piece. I’m thinking that maybe once the assembly is operational that the spring tension keeps the belt from rubbing, but I want to make sure before I reassemble the whole dryer. Any thoughts? This was the response: Hello Dan. There is 2 slots in the base for the pulley to install into. It sounds like you have it in the wrong slot and will need to use the one that is next to the motor. Hope this helps. That answer makes no sense to me. There are no slots. There is a small pulley attached to the motor and a larger pulley (white plastic) below it. The belt wraps around the two pulleys in an S fashion. The belt, when it leaves the lower pulley, goes up to the tumbler drum, but it is rubbing against the L-bracket en route. I’m guessing it shouldn’t. Can you help me figure this out?
