I just want to compliment you on your wonderful service. My request was posted on the site and within fifteen minutes an associate was on the phone with me and explained in detail the problem and it's resolution.
The units that we have were purchased in 1996 and I'm certain that more "maintenance" work will be required in the future and I will return to your site to make the necessary purchases. I will also recommend you site to everyone I know.
Thank you and have a Happy Holiday Season.
Sincerely,
Byron P.

Questions & Answers

Hello Phil. Did you check the lid switch fuse AP4026359 on the lid switch. If it blows, this is a problem you can have. If the fuse is good, you will want to test make sure with the lid closed, the two switches on the lid switch are reading closed. The lid switch should read closed across black and red and the check switch should read closed across black and red. If the switches are good, and the fuse is good, you will need to test the pressure switch AP4025436 across grey and yellow with the tub full. It should read closed. If not, replace the pressure switch. If it is good, you will need to test and see if the motor for power. You will test across red and white for 120 volts AC. If the power is there, and the motor does not run, replace the motor AP4010201 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter AP3873826. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Fred, The wire connections between the original wiring harness and the new jumper harness to the motor, will be made based on wire colors, white to white, red to red, etc. the only issue will be the green or blue wire in the original harness, either one will attach to the purple wire in the jumper harness. There should be no left over wires, once you have the wiring completed. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Art. Yes, you will need to replace the mounting stem kit AP4390013 and the bearing kit AP4372971. This will stop the leak from the bottom of the tub, where the transmission enters the tub assembly. Hope this helps.

Gary, If you remove the front panel, and check and inspect the center area of the base plate I'm pretty sure you'll find that you've got a worn out set of damper pads AP4024203 and damper AP4023716. If the noise is a rough rubbing noise, and it coinsides with the tub movement, these should solve the issue. If its a constant loud rumbling noise in the spin cycle you would most likely have an issue with the tub bearing / seal assemblies and would need AP4372971 and AP4390013 Thanks and Good Luck

Nolan, Are you sure you have at least 108 VAC at the motor or outlet when the motor starts the spin cycle(momentary motor surge) ? If not the drive motor will buzz, hum and overheat. If you do have the minimum voltage, you'll need a new motor AP4010201 based on your inquiry. Thanks, and Good Luck.
