Center burner (16000 BTU) is difficult to light. Igniter works fine (sparking to the burner base) with the cap off. Port is clear and the odor of natural gas is obvious.
Put the cap back on and it takes 3,4 5, or 6 knob actions to get the burner lit.
Can you help me find the answer to my problem?
ANSWER Tom, Check the edge and the underside of the burner cap, and make sure the cap is not warped. Scratches, missing porcelain, or a "loose" or warped cap can cause an erratic spark and a delayed ignition.
