My unit controls seem to work as always and the unit will fill and drain water but I hear no washing going on and the soap remains in the dispenser even though the dispenser door is open. I talked to a repairman and he said my pump was shot and if he repaired it I would have almost as much as a new unit. I looked at new comparable units and they go for $1,000 so I think he is off on that. Plus so much of the new one is exactly like mine inside, dispenser,rack,etc. Is there a way to check the pump? Does that sound like the problem? I have it pulled out from under the counter and can access it.

ANSWER Bob, It could be an issue in the impeller assembly 167085, in the circulation pump 239144. It is pretty involved, but you're halfway through the repair if the dishwasher is un installed. We'll send you some basic information, and you'll be able to do the repair yourself.
