Hello, I have a Bosch shu3006uc which I have let sit for years as I mostly do dishes by hand. We ran the machine recently and it squeals and leaks all over the floor. I am sure the seals got hard and brittle but not sure which parts to replace. I am willing to fix the machine but need to know if I should by the circulation pump kit #20 or a drain pump? Please advise, Thanks, Frank
ANSWER Hello Frank,
The squeal is from the seal sticking to the motor shaft from not being run for some time. The leak is most likely the same seal that is making the noise. This will be in the circulation pump since the drain pumps usually do no have this characteristic. Considering the design of this unit, I would recommend to replace the water valve also since they tend to stick after long periods of non-use. Since the water valve will normally stick in the open position, this is well advised to prevent water damage to the home.
