Our sgsx304 (4 burner w/simmer on the two left burners) works fine except that once lit, the right rear sparker/ignighter sparks almost continuously. The right front ignihter sparks a lot when turned down. Is the controller the correct part to replace? Also, is this the correct controller for me cooktop? Thx.
ANSWER Hi Gra. Your spark switch that is on the burner valve shaft may be shorted. Its job is to send the voltage to the ignition module as you are calling for ignition. Part # 00189008. You can also temporarily unhook one side of the sw. wires and tape it with elect. tape to test to see if this is the issue or possibly the control unit part # 00645446. Thank You.
