How do I test to see if the reason why the oven doesn't heat well is because the element is burned out? If I get a new element, is it a simple pull out plug in new part kind of repair?
ANSWER Hi Kenny. Remove power. Remove door. Remove racks. Remove element mount bolts. With power removed, pull the element out and disconnect wires. Ohm out the element for 28-38 ohms and not open circuit or shorted to outer sheathing. Part # is 00367646. If you can put the meter leads onto the wire terminals and switch the meter to 300 vac range. Use black tape to insure the connections will not come loose and short out with power applied. Apply power and command for oven to bake. You should get 240 vac from the oven thermostat and terminal block. If you need a selector switch the part is # 00412912. The clock is no longer available. Thank You.
