We have a Thermador CM302 double oven. The convection motor assembly in the lower oven emits a vibration-type noise when the convection fan is spinning. We are hoping the noise is originating from the fan and not the motor, but it is difficult to isolate the source.
We have two questions. (1) We have attempted to remove the nut that attaches the fan to the spindle, but the nut won’t budge. It’s difficult to get leverage on the nut because it’s hard to keep the fan from turning when the wrench is applied to the nut. Is there some secret to getting this thing off?
(2) Does a noise such as we are experiencing typically mean the motor is shot?
Thanks,

ANSWER Hello Todd. Try removing the fan blade 487019 and cleaning it, then reinstall the fan blade and see if the noise is still there. Also look at the blade and see if it is bent or warped. If the blade is clean and straight, and the noise is still there, you will need to replace the motor 494266. Hope this helps.
