I have a dual fuel Thermador Range. Top burners are gas. The left front burner will not light. Igniter still sparks. My guess is that jet holder assembly must be replaced because it doesn't seem that gas is coming out. Does this sound accurate and if so, how do I disassemble unit to replace jet holder assembly? Thank you.

ANSWER Hello John,
Gas units are especially susceptible to problems caused by spills. If the little holes where the gas comes out are stopped up, the gas has not got enough pressure to blow it out. There is very little pressure with LP and NAT gas. So little in fact that it has to be measured by how far the gas pressure can push water in a tube. I would use hot white vinegar and a toothbrush to clean the burner as well as possible.
If you cannot hear the gas coming out, the gas valve that the knob fits on is probably not opening and will require replacement.
