I need to remove the base to get to the pump. How do I get the base off? I removed the screws in the front but dont see any others and im a little afraid just to muscle it off.
ANSWER Hello David,
The base should not be removed from the unit. The unit should be "clamshelled" as per the manufacturer. This is how they train their authorized technicians to complete the job. Basically, you remove the screws in the front and two in the rear, (one on each side which requires the bodyside to be removed on the right side),(the bodyside is held on by several screws down the front inside the door and if I remember correctly, they are at least partially hidden by the black rubber seal), to release the base enough to pull the base apart far enough to replace the pump motor. If you completely separate the base, you will create a leak almost guaranteed. This is actually a bit easier with a second set of hands to hold the base apart a bit from the tub assembly while you reach in and change the motor out.
