I have owned this Thermador cooktop for 8 years. I now have a burner that does not light. It is the left center star unit. The piezo ignitor became intermittent but it would eventually spark and ignite. We cleaned the burner with soap and water and now it quit sparking altogether.
I have touched the piezo and I can still feel a small shock (tingle) when I turn the burner on but it isn't strong enough to send a spark.
Can you determine if I need a new Switch, spark, Bosch Part Number: AP2821597?
Thank you...lighting via BIC lighter

ANSWER Hello Puffy. You will want to check and make sure the igniter is good and dry and clean as well. If there is power coming to the igniter and it does not spark, you will need to replace the igniter 188984. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
