Our oven does not regulate the temperature consistently, and has had E2 error code on occasion (runaway temperature). A repairman said the part P/N 488830 BOARD CONTROL was needed to fix the problem. He was unable to find a replacement part. I see from your website that that number was replaced by P/N 368732. Before I order it, I have two questions: 1) does it make sense that that part could cause the problem? 2) Is this a direct replacement part?
He is suggesting replacing the whole oven for $4000, so I hope this works.
ANSWER Jim, 1. Yes the thermal control assembly could cause the irratic oven temperatures. 2. Yes it will be an exact replacement part, The part is no longer available as a new part. The manufacturer will need to refurbish the control components on a previously repalced control board and the control board in your oven will need to be sent back to the manufacturer, to be refurbished.
