My 4 year old Frigidare dishwasher does not light up the front display and does not operate. This occurred after we suffered a brown out condition due to limbs accross the primary power lines out by the street. I verified I have power to the board (red/black wires). Is there a fuse to be replaced or is the board bad and it needs to be replaced. There are no obvious signs of failure on the board.
ANSWER Hello Dan,
The fact that there was a brown-out is the tell tale sign that there was an excessive current flow in the circuits involved. The microprocessor I.C. on the board has most likely had its' information violated. You see, Ohms' Law dictates that if the voltage drops, the current will increase at an inversely proportional rate. In light of the fact that Ohms' Law never changes, I would replace the control board. Normally, at this point, I include the part number, but the part number is model specific. Since there is no model number listed, you can either re-post with a valid model number and we can look it up for you, or you can call our toll free number and give the model number to the representative and they can look it up for you.
