If the O ring was bad, don't you think that the filter will be leaking as soon as we put in the new filter? Why is it that it takes 4 to 8 week before it starts leaking? Thank you.

ANSWER Hello Nestor. As the filter is being used, it builds up more pressure due to filtering the debris out of the water. The more pressure it creates the more likely leaks will show up, if the connections are bad in the housing. Hope this helps.
