My bottom element heats but after about 5 minutes it stops heating and F1 shows up on the display. Also when the oven is not in use this timer buzzer sounds, the only way to stop it is to turn off the power. The broil part of this oven appears to be working properly?
ANSWER Hello Tracy,
This is usually caused by one of several possibilities. The most common cause is a bad touchpad 318030603. The second most common cause is a bad temperature sensor 316217002. The EOC, or electronic oven control 318010900, is the third thing that causes the fault code. If turning the power off to the unit for at least 30 seconds doesn't reset the code and the unit continues beeping, the EOC will require replacement. If it does correct the beeping, the touchpad is normally at fault. Of course, since this code is reflecting an overheating condition, the temperature sensor should at least be tested. It should read about 1100 ohms at 70°F +/- 10%.
