The dryer has stopped working with a DR display. Any buttons pushed give the DR code and does not start. I have checked connections and replaced power cord for dryer which had one prong partly melted. Is the control board faulty or something else? Thanks.
ANSWER Hello Tony,
This is the fault that will come up if the door is open when you try to start the unit. I would check the wires to the door switch 134813601 to make sure they are connected. If they are, you can test the door switch with a test meter. If it tests good, and the harness looks good, the control probably has a fault. Try unplugging the unit for 30 minutes. This should reset the microprocessor back to factory default. If this doesn't produce proper results, the control 134557201 will require replacement.
One note, if the dryer cord had a burned prong, the receptacle was the cause. A loose receptacle can be a fire hazard. I would definitely have the receptacle replaced.
