I am getting an E 59 error code on my washer when it is time to spin. As the tub turns freely and the motor seems to work in other cycles I suspect it is the control board. Can this board be installed from the front or will it have to be installed from the back of the machine
The E59 error code indicates a No tacho signal for 3 seconds. To check the unit remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. If the motor does not spin freely then replace the motor. If the pulley spins freely then spin the tub pulley and if it does not spin then replace the tub bearings. If both of these check ok then disconnect the plug from the drive motor and measure the resistance between pins 4 and 5 in the motor. If the meter reads other than between 105 and 130 ohms then replace place the motor. If the reading is between 105 and 130 ohms then disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to 2, pin 1 to 3 and pin 2 to 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 ohms. If readings are correct, replace the speed control board. If readings are incorrect then replace the motor.
