The refrigerator is making a noise that seems to be coming from the location of the damper assy. The noise stops as soon as the door is opened. The noise varies often but it sounds like something like a bearing going out. It is a whirling that varies in pitch and loudness.
I thought I would need to replace the damper assy, but I wanted to ask first. Also, is there a way to repair the assy or do you have to replace the whole unit?
Is the correct damper assy 241600906?
Thanks for your help.
ANSWER Hello Dave. If the noise id from the damper assembly in the unit, you need to replace it. Try holding the door switch closed and see if it makes the noise. If so, replace the damper.
