I replaced the ice crusher housing but when you switch to crushed ice it despenses cubes.
ANSWER Hello Rich,
You should empty the ice bin and clear any ice particles from the bottom that may have accumulated and frozen together. Next, make sure the diverter actuator rod on the bottom of the ice bin operates freely. If you look in to the bottom opening where the ice drops out of the ice bin you will see how it operates by working the rod. The diverter has to be actuated to allow the cubes to go around the crusher blades. If the diverter doesn't move to allow the cubes to go around the blades, the ice will be crushed. Now you should go to the shelf in the freezer compartment where the ice bin sits. The small square opening on the right has a plastic part inside it that the actuator rod should go into. If this part is up where the rod cannot go into it, it could be causing the issue. With the ice bin still out, press the door switch in while pressing the ice dispense paddle with the unit set to dispense cubes. The solenoid should pop the plastic "box" to the up position. This is what trips the diverter out of the way. If it is already in the up position, it should be pulled down to allow the solenoid to move the actuator rod.
