I had a frost buildup which caused the unit to stop working. The defrost heater test OK using a multimeter. When I took the back off the freezer compartment I noticed the defrost thermostat has two wires leading out of it, one red the other white. The red wire is not connected to anything. There is another red wire that looks like the red thermostat wire should be connected to with one wire having a male connector the other wire a female. Should I just connect the two wires? I think this "other" red wire may lead to the defrost heater
ANSWER Hello Pete. Yes, just plug up the wire and pull to check and make sure it locks into place. If so, it should work fine in the unit.
