The door hinge on the bottom left side of the cabinet is loose. When the door is open its very loose and moves around quite a bit, But with the door open, you can move it around and line up a hole on the inside of the cabinet (probably the hinge) with a small hole on the outside of the cabinet. I would like to fix the door and hinge so it swings open and close without any problem. Can you help me with this? The microwave works good, I'd like to just fix the door and not have to buy a new microwave for what seems like a small problem. Oh, one thing maybe a clue, About 4 months ago, whenever you opened the door, the fan would come on without using it like when you put something inside and close the door to heat something up.
ANSWER Hello Scott,
The fan coming on was a door switch not making properly. This was most likely caused by the door not striking squarely and not making the switch properly. The door hinge should be repair because the danger exists of the door leaking and radiation poisoning occurring from the continued use of the unit. You will need to either completely disassemble the door to install a new 5304440306 inside door panel, or the door assembly should be replaced. The door assembly 5304441375 replacement is what I would recommend unless you have a survey meter to test for leakage around the door assembly.
