Our dishwasher is about 6 years old and the drain pump stopped emptying the water from the bottom of the interior. We always rinse our pot and pans as well as our dishes so we think that there is no chance that something has stopped up the drainage of water. What else can cause the problem? Our son is a mechanic and can replace the pump.

ANSWER Hello Calvin. Check for blockages and if none is found, just order and replace the pump on the unit. Makes sure there is power to the pump motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
