I bought a new dryer 6 months ago but clothes will have a foul smell upon drying, is this caused by a bad heating element?

ANSWER Hello Sam,
An odor indicates to me that there is most likely bacteria involved. You see, a foul odor in the clothes is normally caused by a bacterial action. The odor is the by-product of a bacterial action. Most of the time, an odor in the wash load is traced back to the washer since the dryer carries no water. Water is necessary for bacterial formation. I would try sanitizing the washer with hot water and Affresh W10135699 or a similar cleaner designed to kill the bacterial that causes odor formations.
Of course I cannot smell the odor, but you do need to verify that nothing has crawled into the exhaust duct and met its' demise.
