I have a frigidaire professional side by side with digital control about 5 years old (problem#1 is I don't have the model number, someone peeled off the sticker. I got the part #'s off the controller and discovered there were two part numbers one front one back. This model had a board inside the control housing and I think it was 5303918340 from my research. I think the replacement part fits many models and includes a wire harness sensors, probes, fuses. etc. The control went out when my pure source 2 filter leaked water on it. The freezer side still worked for a few days then stopped too. I am wondering where the wires all go since the replacement seems to have a few more connections than mine does. My 2nd problem is would the compressor be damaged by running with the control removed because It is a bunch of money to just try and pray or save up for a new refrigerator. I hope you can give me guidence on this issue aince I have dine many car, dryer, water heator etc repairs successfully. All the .com companies say this is the one I need and some will take the part back and refund payment if repair does not work. Does your company accept returns?
ANSWER Glenn, You're correct, your control has been updated and re configured to operate in several different units. Based on the information you supplied the part number 5303918340 is the repalcement control, you'll need. Depending on the version etc. of your unit, it may be as simple as a straight across change out. I doubt if there was damage to your compressor, and I'm pretty sure you'll be fine after the repalcement. Good Luck.
