When I preheat the oven at 425 I wait and it only heats up to 225. Would the timer be bad or would the element?

ANSWER Hello James. You will need to test the element 318255006 in the unit. It should read closed for continuity. If it is bad, it will cause the problem you are having with the unit. Hope this helps.
