My freezer was cooling fine, but fridge was not. Defrost seems to be working ok. Compressor and fan next to compressor are also ok but seem to run continuously. I left it running to keep frozen items from spoiling for several days despite fridge not working and then I noticed a smell coming from the freezer. I thought something might be overheating from running continuously and then unplugged it. When I plugged it back in today I noticed that the fan in the freezer is not running. Do you think the fan just needs to be replaced or could it be something else?
ANSWER Hello Jessica. Test for power coming to the fan motor. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the fan motor 5303918549 in the freezer.
