There is a small plastic part near the outer edge of the filter assembly. It looks like a drain of some sort going through the filter.
I found this part loose in the bottom of my dishwasher and put it back in the hole it came out of. It looks like it should have an O ring on it but that is gone and it wasn't in the disposal unit in the filter. What is this part and should I worry about rplacing the whole filter assembly?
ANSWER Art, Yes you'll need to replace the filter assembly, the overflow nozzle is a "stamped" fitting and isn't repairable. There is no "O" ring involved. You may want to check your detergent usage, (too much) and insure your dishwasher drains completely. Thanks and Good Luck
