I just replaced my water filter housing because the old one cracked. I replaced it with an aftermarket filter housing and cap w/ Oring. I turned on the water supply and began to fill a cup with water and the filter housing just overflows with water. I tried switching my in and out lines and still does the same thing. Is it possible the Oring that came with the housing is defective? Or could it be one of the valves in the back of the refrigerator? Thanks for any help or advice anyone could give me
This issue would sound more like a issue of the water valve and the oring. The o ring should keep the water from coming out into the refrigerator compartment but if the cup is filling just as soon as you turn the water on without hitting the dispenser or having the icemaker cycling then the primary solenoid on the valve is faulty and would need to be replaced.
