Looks like I have an older model dryer, where the slider tabs (the parts that overhang the felt, facing the door) fit into metal brackets. The slides on the new part are spaced differently, and they no longer line up, and won't fit because interfere with the metal parts. Can I carefully trim the tabs by 1/8" so they don't interfere with the tabs?
ANSWER Hello Mike,
As long as there is plenty of surface for the drum to ride on, there should be no problem with trimming them. Also, it will probably help to lubricate the slides. You should only use baby powder or corn starch to lubricate these so if it gets into the wash, it will not damage any fabrics.
