Our freezer is 3-4 years old, but thought the gasket needed to be replaced. After reading the instructions about installing a new gasket I am wondering if I can try a hair dryer to see if the gasket would seal better. Does that make sense? Would a gasket fail in that shortof time?

ANSWER Diane, What is the issue ? You didn't mention a problem, As long as the seal itself is not torn or damaged, as long as the seal is in contact with the front flange of the cabinet, and the freezer is level and sitting on all four legs, you should be able to clean the seal and front flange with hot soapy water. You can then heat the seal with a hair dryer, reshape as necessary, and you can put a very thin coat of vaseline on the seal. Thanks and Good Luck
