The refrigerator doors keeps opening even when the refrigerator is empty. The hinges are tight and the cam appears to be in good shape. I am considering replacing the door gasket. It does not seems as "cushiony" as the freezer door gasket. Will this help? If not, any suggestions?
ANSWER Hello Martin,
The cam at the bottom door hinge is what closes the door and keeps it closed. I would not change the door gasket unless it is torn and not sealing. The door hinge 5303918455 will be the issue. You will need to empty the door of grocery products completely and remove the upper door hinge. Remove the door from the cabinet and lay it in the floor on blankets to prevent damage to the floor and the door. Now you have access to both halves of the door hinge, on the bottom of the door and at the bottom of the cabinet. This is a simple job that shouldn't take you very long at all. Emptying the door normally takes longer than changing the parts.
