I ordered a gasket seal part #AP2137974 for my frigidaire refrigerator. I live alone and after I received I have been too nervous to put this part on the door. I was told that I need to hire a professional to do it. Is that correct? I asked one of your workers and they said to make sure it is all even and just replace it after taking the old one off. I took the corner off a little and there wasn't anything there to hold it. On the directions it says to place glue (which I ordered) on each end for 6 inches to hold in place and the rest will just adhere to the door. I am afraid if I take the old one off and try to place the new one on and it doesn't work, I will need to purchase a new refrigerator. Can you please call me and discuss with me what I need to do??? Many thanks, Cathy
ANSWER Cathy, You'll find it a lot easier to work with the door gasket, if you soak it in hot water first. And have a blow dryer, and tablespoon handy, for smoothing out the wrinkles. And you may want to loosen the screws, under the gasket, that hold the door liner to the door panel, then re tighten them after the seal is installed. it may make it a bit easier to work with.
