Is it likely that a washer would suddenly start leaking from the bottom of the drain hose? I have a sudden slow leak..but cannot see it actually leaking. I have the front off, and watch the entire cycle with a flashlight. The water fills the pocket in the base beneath the drain hose next to the pump. No leaking is noticable from the pump, or the inlet hose from the tub. I lifted up the drain hose and it appears to be the source..but why after 9 or 10 years would the drain hose leak just where it lies on the base?
ANSWER Hi Tim. It is common with the drain hose that is a corregated part to rub and eventually start a small leak. Thank God you found it now whre no more damge can occur. When you replace the hose, make sure to take advantage of the plastic stand offs that may be in the base and frame to clip the hose into. Hose part # 131461200. Thank You.
