My belt broke and I need to replace it. Once it broke the idler arm fell off and I am having trouble trying to figure out how to reinstall it properly with the belt looking at the assembly drawing provided.
If the left side of the arm is hooked to the spring and the right side slips around a slot in the spacer (which stayed in place when the belt broke), the right side is kinda vertical off the spacer and the left side is horizontal per the assembly drawing, this means the arm and pulley are over the top of the pulley on the motor. It also gets pulled down on the motor shaft and/or pulley by the spring.
How do you route the belt on both the idler arm pulley and the motor pulley? How do you keep the idler arm and pulley from interfering with the motor shaft and pulley? I am puzzeled on how exactly to put everything back together again correctly. I wish there were better drawings out there... are there?
ANSWER Hello Mike. Here is a link to the parts diagram. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/motor-parts-for-frigidaire-fde436rbs2.html If you look at the picture, you will see how the idler arm attaches to the unit. Here is a link to the repair forum to help you install the belt onto the unit. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/25860-dryer-belt-diagrams.html
