Our six year old Frigidaire ( model: GLGFS75DBD ) oven takes an inordinate amount of time to light, but it eventually does. We can see the "orangish" glow below the oven bottom and are recently beginning to smell gas before it lights with a small explosive sound. We have begun to use only the top broiler and have ceased using the bake oven because of this. From that which I have been reading online I think that I need to replace the ignitor, but I see that there are two different ignitors and I'm unsure as to which I should replace. Is one of them more apt to be causing my problem than the other? Thank you for your help!
ANSWER Hello Al,
To determine if it is the oven ignitor that is causing problem, you will want to do an amp draw on the ignitor 318177710You should get an amp draw when lighting of 3.2 to 3.6 amps then the ignitor is ok. If not then the ignitor would need to be replaced.
