Hello I had the same problem as jarod. I followed his given instructions but unfortunately I couldn't find "The screw on both sides of the console." I did however remove the 4 screws on each of the brackets underneath the control panel. Then I tried flipping it and cracked the top of the control panel. It seems there are internal screws holding in together? Now I am at a loss on the DIY. I am about ready to throw in the towel and call a serviceman.
ANSWER Hi Smith. Sorry about the crack in the control panel. There are hidden screws all around the sides of the main top assy. Usually more screws then needed are taken out. Are the control panel supports and console totally loose and removed? We know this is a challenging task even for a seasoned certified technician. It seems as if the screws are put in unusual places unknown. The main top is part # 318223614. Again once the top is loose then you use a black felt marker to mark the screw holes. Keep in mind that this wil allow the burner supports will be properly re centered upon reinstalling. Thank you.
