I suspect that the auger motor is malfunctioning because the motor behind the ice maker continues to run. How do I get to this motor to either shut it off or replace it.

If the auger motor runs, it's a safe assumption that the motor is good. The most probable cause is the micro switch 241689101 at the dispenser paddle. If that hasn't been fouled with sticky drinks from dispensing ice into drinks and splattering up into the controls, the issue is probably a shorted wiring harness at the door hinge where the wires lead into the door from the chassis.
