I got a bake element 240 volt from you recently. I don't have the owners manual but in the kenmore parts book it lists both the 208 volt and 240 volt element. Does it matter which is used? Is it safe to install the 240 volt without knowing what the original one was?
ANSWER Charlotte, The most common power supply for an electric range in a dwelling is 240 VAC. I'm sure you'll be fine with what you have. A 240 VAC element installed in a 208 VAC system will still heat, but take longer to come up to temperature. A 208 element installed in a 240 VAC system will heat, but will deteriorate and quit working sooner than usual. I'm sure you'll be fine. Thanks and good Luck
