I have tried to turn the housing on the filter to open but am not having any success....it almost seems that I may crack the housing covering the filter. Is this normal? Also how do I easy it enough to open the hosuing so that I am able to open it without breaking it?

ANSWER Hello Zulu. The cup on the filter housing unscrews from the housing. Sometimes, these can be tight, but it should unscrew off the housing.
