My stove top takes a long time to light once we have turned on our lower oven. I was told I needed to replace my gas regulator. When I wrote you about it you told me I needed to replace my upper safety valve. The upper oven was not even involved in my question. I am asking if it is an indication the gas regulator needs to be replaced.

ANSWER Hi Joel. Try to turn down your gas supply valve in line to the stove. If this corrects the issue, then you have issues in the supply line. If you have either black pipe or galvanized pipe, you can have moisture build up in the line causing corrosion build up. This in turn will create a higher pressure allowing your regulator diaphragm to flutter. If this is the case, then replace it with part # 5303935125. Thank you.
