Frigidaire gas dryer. 7 Years old, out of warranty. Gas valve opens in cycle (low flow), ignitor glows nice and red, starts flame, high flow gas opens, dryer starts to dry. During some (not all) cycles, gas valves cycling at very high rate - clickety-clack, clickety-clack. Flame sensor was good (continuity), but replaced anyway. Coils suspect, but within range, repalced anyway. Gas valves operate freely (no binding). What else is there? The random nature of excessive gas valve opening/closing suggests something other than a continuity device issue, but not sure where to go from here. Any help?
ANSWER David, Based on your post, you'll need to start looking at the heater relay on the control board 134523200 or the motor switch 131560100, The heater relay supplies voltage to the valve(through the thermistor and hi limit thermostat) and the motor switch completes the circuit to netral. If there is a loose wire connection or the relay or motor switch has a weak contact , the gas valve can Short cycle and make a chattering or clacking noise. Good Luck and Thanks
