Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
We turned off water to the home while on 3 month vacation. Upon return and turning on water we found ice maker was not making ice. We checked on off for ice make inside the ice catch area, water in door works fine, fingers inside ice mec is turning as if to expell frozen cubes but no water makes it to the ice maker itself.
Suggestions or a parts replacement?
ANSWER Hello Jim. Check and see if the fill tube is frozen and clogged. If so, thaw it and clear out the clog and replace the water valve. If there is not clog and power to the valve during cycle, replace the water valve 242252702. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
