Dishwasher occasionally leaks from the middle spray arm manifold down the back of the unit. Sometimes not at all, sometimes just a trickle, and occasionally, a lot. I don't see any cracks or anything in the manifold (Part #154824201) or rubber grommet, (Part #154463402), but there is a little calcification or old detergent caked in there. Is it possible for certain dish configurations to be causing water to shoot up the inside of that rubber grommet? If so, any sort of sealant or anything I could use to prevent that? I took it all apart and cleaned everything for the same problem about 2 years ago, and it ran without leaking a drop for a while, but now it's back. Running out of ideas! Thanks!
ANSWER Hello Mike,
The dish configuration would not have much to do with manifold getting residue build up inside. Normally this is caused by severly hard water or over detergent usage. You will want to clean the manifold and have water hardness checked. You should only use 1 teaspoon per grain of hardness not to exceed 10.
