Ice dispenser motor/ solenoid not working. I have tried the removing bin, taping door sensor closed, when I press the dispenser nothing happens, no movement or noise at all. The water still dispenses and all the lights/switches work. I see there are a few things to try, but unsure what to order/do in this case. Its a whirlpool ED25QFHXW00 side by side. Seems to be alot of issues with the motor/board failing. The ice flapper opens and closes fine. Any advice direction would be great.
ANSWER Hi. Remove the ice bin. If the auger is frozen in place you need to thaw it out and dry it and the chopper blades as well. Tape the freezer door shut as well and command the ice / auger motor to dispense. If it works now then it was a frozen auger bin. Test both the ice and the crush to see if the crush solenoid part # 2152713 pulls up and releases when the other command is selected. If the auger motor part # 2188242 hums then replace it. Thank You.
