We have a Sears refrigerator Model # 25367800792. The freezer compartment works perfectally but the refrigerator compartment doesn't cool like it should. I have the temp. control turned all the way up to the coldest setting and it's only 55 degrees in there. Would the problem be in the temp control and if so, is it an easy fix?
Thanks for any advice you could offer.
ANSWER Dave, before you replace the cold control, have you checked to make sure the freezer back wall is not coated in frost or ice, this would be a defrost issue, and could restrict the air flow to the refrigerator compartment, also check the ceiling in the refrigerator compartmentfor moisture or droplets. Can you hear or feel the evaporator fan motor in the freezer compartment running and moving the air. Then check the air diffuser in the back portion of the refrigerator ceiling and make sure it's not blocked by an article on the shelf, or clogged with water or ice. If alls OK, then replace the cold control, and it's not a hard repair to perform at all, just make sure you install the repalcement part exactly the same as the original part, and you shouldn't have any issues after that.
