When the machine is washing the agitator is working properly but the tub is turning in a clockwise direction with the agitator and makes it seem that it is spin drying while the agitator goes back and forth, this causes the laundry to wrap on the agitator and water to spill up out the top of the tub. I can actually hold the tub from spinning. The spin cycle works fine as it spins in a ccw direction. Is there a locking devise somewhere. What can cause this problem.
ANSWER Ray, Yes there is a "locking" device. but it is an internal component in the transmission. It would require the replacement of the transmission and associated seals and bearing.
