Can I still use my stove without the trim ring (burner)?

ANSWER Bob, we would not recommend to use the appliance without the burner trim ring 316011300. With this missing on the product it can cause food and spill overs to go down directly into the maintop of the unit where the valves, etc are and can cause damage to other parts. Thanks.
